How come girls seem to take out there anger on the friendly guy?

Just to make sure you understand i'm not talking about a Girlfriends or love interests, I mean platonic friends you can have for years, I just notice that if they are upset or angry, often due to other guys, they seem to take it out on you even tho at times I might not even like the guy myself.
