What's the deal with my credit and debit card charges?

The bank will investigate and find their mistake. Don't spend the money yet. They have no time limit to correct their mistake. I would work with them to ensure that all is well. If they correct their mistake and it results in an over limit balance, you'll pay because you know or should have known that the money was not charged.
