How many asteroids earth receives each year that do not cause any harm as they burn to ashes in atmosphere?

Approximately how many asteroids enter earth's gravitational pull each year that burn to ashes due to atmospheric friction. Asteroids up to approx. 15 meters size burn to ashes. Bigger sized explode on earth. As asteroids of every size p near the earth, how come only small sized are attracted towards our planet that do not cause any or very little harm. If bigger asteroids also fall on earth with same frequency as on other planets, almost every day a locality, or a city could be damaged. There is no validity in the argument that heavier planets like Jupiter are so stratagetically placed, that they swallow all big comets and asteroids that could harm us. All these planets are placed at different distances from earth at different periods, while number of asteroids in different sizes always p near earth. Was Newton correct in his essment that there are cosmic powers managing the world, and they are saving us?
