Muslims- was it ok to depict Prophet Mohammad in the past?

It's true that the Quran is read in it's original language, having been written less than 1500 years ago. But though the book is as it was written, the way it is understood by the various sects of Islam, differ almost as much as the Biblical books do. Like all things human, people see the writing they way they WANT to see it. And of course, like all writings, it is full of contradictions, which of course the devout believers do not see or acknowledge. The Bible consists of books written at various times, about things that supposedly happened hundreds of years before, and written in languages which are no longer in use. Apart from Greek, of course, and the Greek writings were themselves translations. So yes, it contains translations that are often dubious. Nothing humans do or write is ever 'pure', and both books were written by men, for their own purposes, without divine inspiration or guidance. Because there is no 'Divinity'! I've never read the Quran, but the Bible makes great reading! Harry Potter doesn't even come near!
